What's the news on the "4 Towns Enquiry by Design"?

Supposed to see plans in September, I take it now that it won't be until February at the earliest.

Are any of you still involved or is that it? Sad

Hank Dittmar said: “We and our partners are thrilled to see the Scottish government so positively affirming community involvement in neighbourhood design. The judges commented that Ellon was not a ‘once-off’ but could be adapted for any village. It is only by listening to local wisdom – the stories, traditions and culture of a place - that new development can have a hope of enriching what is already there and flourishing into the future.”

Tim Canning, a neighbourhood residents leader in Ellon, said: “If the Prince’s Foundation is interested in building a new community and a new community way of living there’s something they need to be considering first and foremost — that’s the existing community they want to drop this thing into.”

The Scotsman reported:

Prince's green town gets go-ahead 05 December 2009 By TIM CORNWELL
THE Prince of Wales's plans for the "Scottish Poundbury" – an architecturally-pleasing green town billed as 'good for people and good for the planet' – moved from dream to reality yesterday.

East Ayrshire Council gave outline planning permission to Knockroon – a community of 770 homes, workplaces, leisure and open spaces that will all be in walking distance.

Overseen by the Prince's Charitable Foundation, Knockroon will be built on land next to Dumfries House, the stately home which he helped buy for £45million to save its stunning Chippendale furniture collection.

Knockroon is an estimated 25-year building project, with sustainable architecture for homes using green energy from biomass or wind power.

The foundation says it will be a neighbourhood "extension" to Cumnock, helping revitalise its economically struggling centre, rather than a separate community.
